Mostly marginal toning, edgewear with tiny closed tears, corner-tips gone, small (one inch radius) dampstain at tail of spinefold, a good-only copy. Parrish & Willingham 2302. ".in consequence of the increased expenditures for repairs to railroads, torpedo service. the additional sum of five million dollars.will be required, thus making the total estis,mate [sic] for that period, fifteen million dollars." This Confederate Imprint is one of more than 100 recently acquired, most with 'Rebel Archives' stamp on the cover, indicating that these were the actual copies seized by the Union Army at the end of the Civil War. Single leaf, 2pp, bears the oval "Rebel Archives" stamp (outline only, text invisible); rather toned, slightly edgeworn, small whitish smudge in upper right corner, a good copy. Parrish & Willingham 2289. "This vessel was purchased from the Navy Department by the claimants, and afterwards seized by a verbal order of Brigadier General E. Higgins. and sunk as an obstruction in the harbor of Mobile." Please email with questions or to request photos.
