Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book details the proceedings of the Vermont State Board of Agriculture, Manufactures, and Mining, documenting the series of meetings held throughout the state of Vermont in 1875 and 1876. The author records the papers, discussions, and a great number of addresses delivered at these meetings, most of which focused on agricultural topics such as grass raising, dairying, stock raising, and fruit culture. The meetings also covered topics related to manufacturing and mining, reflecting the wide-ranging interests of the Board. Of particular note within the collection are papers from the author emphasizing the importance of chemical analysis to ensure the quality of commercial fertilizers, an innovation which protected consumers from worthless or fraudulent materials. Overall, this book presents a thorough overview of the agricultural practices, manufacturing developments, and mining activities in Vermont during the mid-19th century, providing insights essential to understanding the era.
