Illustrated with black-and-white, and colour photographic reproductions of the artist's various works, complete with a concise biography of the artist, a list of their exhibitions (until the time of publication), a list of honours and prizes, and a detailed ennumerated list of the artist's oil paintings, drawings, pastels, graphics (with bibliographic details such as their dates of publication, measurements, and titles in Japanese and English). One very faint and minor spot to the lower-left margin of the front cover, contents free of any blemishes with bright, clean, and unmarked leaves and firm, sound binding; near fine. An exceptionally scarce SIGNED catalogue of an exhibition of the late Czech painter, graphic artist and illustrator with preface, introduction and notes by: Kentaro Hayashi, Seiji Oshima, Czech ambassador Ing. Karel Houska, and Vlasta Cihakova-Noshiro. Text printed in parallel columns in English, and Japanese. "It is our great pleasure to present this exhibition of the work of Ota Janecek, a Czechoslovak painter invited to Japan this year by The Japan Foundation. Mr. Janeck is well-known in Europe as a representative of contemporary Czech art; in Japan, he is very highly regarded as an illustrator of children's books, and known for his painting by specialists. We wish to express our sincere appreciation to all those who have devoted their efforts to making, this exhibition possible: represents for Japanese audiences a very rare opportunity to see and admire art from Eastern Europe."
