Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Fine. No Jacket. A notable early edition of *The Visage of Mohammed* by the Iranian sociologist, philosopher, and religious-political thinker Ali Shariati (1933-1977), translated into English by A. A. Sachedin and published in 1971 by Sherkat-e Sahami-e Enteshar for the Hossayniyyeh-e Ershad in Tehran. In this work, Shariati outlines the personality and significance of the Prophet Muhammad. He highlights the Prophet's exceptional character, his moral authority, and his unique combination of personal strength and popularity. The Prophet is presented not merely as a religious figure, but also as a historical personality whose actions and social impact played a pivotal role in the development of Islam. The text reflects Shariati's approach, in which religion, human dignity, and social responsibility are inextricably linked. Ali Shariati is considered one of the most influential Iranian Islamic intellectuals of the twentieth century. Following his studies in Iran, he continued his education in France, where he engaged with subjects including sociology and social theory. He developed an innovative interpretation of Shia Islam, emphasizing social justice, resistance against oppression, and the social responsibility of believers. His lectures and writings exerted a profound influence on Iranian students and intellectuals in the years leading up to the 1979 Islamic Revolution. He passed away in London in 1977, at the age of 43. Bibliographically significant: this edition dates from 1971, a time when Shariati was still alive. The library catalog CiNii Books explicitly lists this edition, noting only two libraries that hold a copy. This suggests limited representation within that catalog, though it does not, in itself, prove that the work is rare on a global scale. A bilingual edition, with the English title on the front and the Persian text on the back. The English portion consists of 93 pages, followed by a Persian section of roughly the same length.…
