Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. A scarce copy of this lavishly illustrated 238pp monograph on Iqbal Hussain, the prominent Pakistani artist who has chronicled the dancers and musicians of Lahore and the environs of the city over a five-decade career. The interior of the book is unmarked throughout, the binding tight and there is no bumping to corner tips of pictorial board covers - just some surface wear at the joints where the book has been opened for reading. The dust wrapper is also Near Fine with just the odd hint of surface use to rear cover - no nicks or tears. The accompanying slipcase has significant wear to the bottom panel and tail of spine - there are no splits however and overall the case is certainly presentable/Fair-Good. Please see five pictures attached for a closer look. Note: Owing to 1.8+kg weight an adjustment to shipping charge may be requested for International destinations.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Exploring the scenario of post disaster rehabilitative housing in India, the book delves into identifying the need for quick, effective shelter. While taking into account the function of a home, in a community, within various and unique cultural contexts, the design aims to respond to the needs of communities displaced by natural disasters. The housing system looks to address realistic situations such as government policies that may fall through and the less-than-ideal circumstances in which people are provided shelter. The new home is hence treated as an owner driven experience, independent of as much external reliance as possible. Traditional spaces are intrinsic to the design which allows for manipulation by owners to address their long term needs, personal tastes and immediate concerns post the disaster. The house hence ensures that appropriate and humane spaces are not compromised both at the intimate scale of a single home as well as when numerous homes are tightly arranged to form a community. It aims to imbibe a sense of belonging, security and ownership, at a time when the sense of the same is lost. 64 pp. Englisch.…
