Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. Needled by risk and a true story of the unreported murder of a U.S. Federal Judge, parallel and time transcendent love yarns knit this warm throw of a novel about love and justice. Argued by an adventurer, entrepreneur and disillusioned lawyer, the case divinates the waters of opportunity and drills the wellspring of salvation for Americans of all colors. Draw from it and free yourself from the yoke of a hollow spirit. Follow The Honorable Richard Welcome Turner, from the onset of the Civil War, to his death bed. A heroic Confederate soldier, promoted to colonel, Turner never was captured throughout the war's entirety despite suffering a considerable physical injury. More unique was his personal revolution. He worked for the Union, as a federal judge, in post bellum Louisiana after his parole from the Confederate ranks. That difficult position put him at odds with a reactionary, post slavery, Southern society. Nevertheless, Turner fell in love with a woman who exacerbated his professional and familial predicament. That relationship produced his only marriage, only children and jeopardized his life. Five generations later, Turner's great, great grandson lived by his example. These mirrored stories drive social change toward what is good and what is American: freedom. Antithetical to a good America is slavery and its nonreconciled former slave society. The intellectually honest among us demand that those perpetrators compensate their victims. The Turner murder provokes that very justice since it illustrates the state government's criminal role in enforcing slavery and post slavery social codes. "National Repair," therefore, bets that civilly prosecuting Judge Turner's murderers is the ticket by which wrongs perpetrated by slave and post slavery societies can be legally redressed, enabling America to cotton a tighter knit union: a more perfect freedom. Justice matters. Love matters. America matters. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…
