Orange cloth minimally decorated with black stamped lettering to spine and front board, spine ends lightly bumped. Black top edge; toning to froe-edge and bottom edge as well as to endpapers; light toning at margins of interior leaves which otherwise remain quite clean. Binding is firm. Else a very good copy in a good+ dust jacket. Reprints "Chip of the Flying U" (first published 1906), "Flying U Ranch" (published 1914), and "The Flying U's Last Stand" (published 1915).

First Grosset edition of this rousing Western set in a range war in Montana. Bertha Sinclair-Cowan (1871-1940) based her westerns on intimate knowledge of homesteading and western life in Washington, and Montana, and a writing career which sustained herself and her daughter, moves to California where she worked on adaptations of her books for silent film Westerns, and eventual move to Depoe Bay, OR.
