Preface, Twelve Essays (Footnotes and brief Bibliography for each); 350 pages, followed by a description of 'Unity History Schools' [two pages] and a listing of the series publications on the rear pastedown. The original moss-green cloth is rubbed at the extremities, with a scratch on the lower board; gilt lettering is clear on the bumped spine. Ex-Library from the University of Hawaii, with blind-stamp on the title page, and an ink number with discreet 'Withdrawn' at the preface. There is light toning to the free endpapers and a signature of author R. [Robert] H. Murray who left pale pencil markings---mostly in Whitehead's essay, "The First Physical Synthesis." The remaining 330 pages are completely clean. First the historical retrospect, then the living problem, and the whole looked at from the completely human, not merely nationalist standpoint."
