This manual is primarily based on the contents of Soil Science courses included in the curriculum of the Rajmata Vijayaraje Sciendiya Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior, M.P. This manual provides a description of the compound experimental procedures through a simple, easy-to understand step-by step manner with good illustrations and samples. I am sure that the manual will be useful to the various disciplines of Soil Science students working on soil physico-chemical, soil fertility, soil biology and soil pollution aspect at RVSKVV and State Agricultural Universities as well as to other personnel engaged in Soil Science research and teaching. The authors justify greetings for their effort in bringing out this useful manual.

Narendra Singh is currently the Associate Professor and Head at the Department of Anthropology, Assam University: Silchar, Diphu Campus, Diphu, Assam, India. He did his Master's and Ph.D. in Anthropology from University of Poona, Pune. Besides teaching, Dr. Singh has vast experience in survey research in the field of Health and Ethnography. Dr. Singh has a couple of books to his credit, the most recent being Tribal Culture, Health and Development A Study of Northeast India. He has also published several research papers in national and international journals of repute. Prof. Sarit K. Chaudhuri is the Director of National Museum of Mankind (IGRMS), Bhopal, under Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. During 200305, as a postdoctoral fellow of SOAS, UK, he worked in a five years collaborative project of SOAS, British Museum, CCRD, and Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh. He also worked with An SI, Shillong, as well as with Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh in the Department of Anthropology and AITS. He has published 9 books and 52 research papers.
