Um das Problem der Interferenzen an den Zellenrändern bei zellulärem Massive MIMO zu lösen, wurde das zellfreie Massive MIMO eingeführt, das sowohl Massive MIMO als auch verteilte MIMO-Prinzipien beinhaltet. Zellfreies Massive MIMO hat den Vorteil, dass die Benutzer näher an den Zugangspunkten (APs) platziert sind, was eine höhere spektrale Effizienz ermöglicht. Während zellenfreies Massive MIMO die spektrale Effizienz verbessert, sind Signalverarbeitungstechniken wie Vorcodierung erforderlich, um sie weiter zu maximieren.

Distributed massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems involve deploying a large number of transmitting antennas around user equipment (UEs) to achieve this goal. However, in cellular massive MIMO, signal interference around cell edges can present a problem. To address interference issues around cell edges in cellular massive MIMO, cell-free massive MIMO was introduced, which incorporates both massive MIMO and distributed MIMO principles. Cell-free massive MIMO is advantageous as it places users closer to access points (APs), enabling higher spectral efficiency. Cognitive Radio technology comes as a solution which enhances the utilization of… spectrum with systematic use of the scarce resource by opportunistic spectrum access. Among many spectrum sensing algorithms available, Energy Detector (ED) is preferred since it doesn't need the prior information about primary user's signals and are having low computational complexity. However, the performance of ED is directly proportional to signal to noise ratio (SNR) which leads to poor performance at the low SNR regime. In order to alleviate the detection problem at low SNR, Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) based denoising of the primary user signal is applied in the front end of ED. The effect of denoising prior to ED is analysed by employing six different mother wavelets as Haar, Daubechies, BiorSplines, ReverseBior, Coiflets and Fejer-Korovkin and, the performance metrics of ED is analysed using single stage wavelet based ED. Simulation results have shown that the Reverse Bior mother wavelet approach improves all the performance matrices. 92 pp. Englisch.
