She was soon Professor of Anatomy and later Registrar in the college, and after 17 years there, she followed a call to join a Religious Community, to the Sisterhood of the Epiphany of the Oxford Mission in East Pakistan. She planned a small maternity hospital where she trained midwives and during this period experienced the war between East and West Pakistan, terminating in the formation of Bangladesh.
