Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. 1st Edition. From 1959 and 1960, not a book but three early 33-1/3 rpm "High Fidelity" (mono) Slim Whitman Country & Western record albums bearing the early black labels with multi-colored stars, Imperial 9064, 9102, and 9135, all showing near-mint vinyl in very-good-plus cardboard jackets with small Previous Owner labels to corners. Slim offers Fred Rose's "Blue Eyes Crying In the Rain," Doris Day's (well, actually Sammy Cahn's) "I'll Never Stop Loving You," "Rose Marie," "Indian Love Call," "China Doll," "When I Grow Too Old to Dream," etc. Slim Whitman was popular in Europe (as were films starring Lex Barker or Stewart Granger based on the "Western" novels of German Karl May), while in America his product was often marketed mainly to insomniacs via late-night television ads. Three lovely, flawlessly preserved Slim Whitman LP albums combined into a lot to consolidate shipping charge, the group now reduced from $22. The day will come when you'll regret missing this one! ("Slim Whitman Yodeling" sold separately.).

Hardcover. Condizione: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. Cover photograph by Ken Kim (illustratore). 1st Edition. OK, you've got all the best discs by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, by Dylan and Led Zeppelin. You've got a box full of Coltrane and Miles Davis and Johnny Cash. You've got "Blind Faith" and "Cheap Thrills" and "Layla" -- "Hotel California" and "The Harder They Come." But can you really claim to have assembled a collection of the high points of all the truly great stars of vinyl if you don't have a mint-condition copy of Imperial LP-9235 on the black label with multi-colored stars . . . "Slim Whitman Yodeling"? Not only does Slim cover "Sioux City Sue" and "Mockin' Bird Hill," but you also get his immortal renditions of "Cowboy's Heaven" and "Rainbow on The Rio Colorado," both songs by -- wait for it -- Gene Autry! Not a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm mono vinvl record album, mint condition vinyl in a near-mint cardboard jacket with remains of a small owner address label to lower right. And not one you're going to see offered every day! (When they staged a "Command Performance" in London for the Queen, what did she demand to hear? Slim yodeling, of course.) Now reluctantly reduced from $12.

Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. 1st Edition. From 1961 and 1962, not a book but three early 33-1/3 rpm "High Fidelity" (mono) Slim Whitman Country & Western record albums bearing the early black labels with multi-colored stars, Imperial 9137, 9156, and 9209. The vinyl of "Call Me Lonesome" is very-good-plus (no scratches, just a bit "cloudy"), while the other two discs show near-mint vinyl in very-good-plus cardboard jackets with small Previous Owner labels to corners. Slim offers "Vaya Con Dios," "For All We Know," "Cool Water," "Stairway to Heaven" (by Herman Church, probably not the tune you're thinking of), and, who could ever forget, Vesphew Benton "Vep" Ellis' (1917-1988) "Riding the Range for Jesus." Three lovely Slim Whitman LP albums combined into a lot to consolidate shipping charge. And -- fess up, now -- can you ever really get ENOUGH Slim Whitman? The lot of three LPs now reduced from $21.
