Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Good. First Edition. Date is an estimate. Very good with top corners of book BUMPED, some dust soil to maroon cloth. Pastedowns have some natural discoloration around edges due to the glue used in binding. Pencil name of Chas (Charlie) Kohrs, a fairly well known amateur magician in the L.A. area. No other markings. In a good dust jacket with some edge wear including short tears and some creasing and very slight shallow chipping to edges. Overall, an above average copy of the first edition, first printing of this book. 208 pages, illustrated with photographs. The first book to attempt to capture the techniques of master sleight of hand magician's magician, Tony Slydini. Includes many of Slydini's most famous routines: Coins through the table, Knotted Silks, Torn and Restored Newspaper, Paper Balls in the Hat.
Hardcover. Condizione: Good. First Thus. Fair plus ONLY copy of the first printing of the hardbound Tannen edition with the pictorial label on front board. We grade this copy only fair plus because there is fraying to cloth at spine ends and corners. The pictorial label has a little rubbing. Not issued in a printed jacket. No prior owner markings. Originally issued as individual lessons at premium prices in the mid to late 1940s, then in 1961 re-issued as a bound book by Louis Tannen. Some readers today are only familiar with the book in its abominable re-issue by D Robbins, successor to Louis Tannen, Inc., with cheap binding and poor quality of the photographs. The large and plentiful George Karger photographs have always been one of the features of the series and it has been a shame how the loss of the original printing materials has resulted in an undignified printing of this landmark publication. This edition has high production values (for example, coated paper stock and good photographic reproduction.) One of the most influential and inspirational collections of magic effects assembled in the 20th century. Many now classic effects appear here in their original form for the first time: Cutting the Aces, Spellbound, Flight of the Paper Balls, etc.

Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. Revised Edition. Very good in very good dust jacket. No jacket tears or chips. The book itself is slightly "sprung", the result of having been poorly stored for a period of time. If you sit a pile of books on it for a month, the problem will likely resolve itself. No markings, no bookplate. 297 pages. Revised from the original 1960 publication to include annotations to the original text by Slydini which were compiled and preserved by Dr. Gene Matsuura.
