Chip at head of collective half-title. Names of the contributing authors detailed at the end of the contents list. Ink splash to one page otherwise text bright and fresh. Written by a group of friends while at Eton; includes essays on the conduct of life and other cultural and philosophical topics, written as letters from pseudonymous or imaginary correspondents. On the verso of the title of no. 1 is a draft 'Advertisement for 2nd Edition', perhaps written as a joke, or by one of the contributors. At the bottom of the page is written, 'Xmas holidays'. An interesting copy.
