Juli Soler i Santaló. (Barcelona 1845-1914). Destacat excursionista del primer terç del segle XX, amb una notable carrera de primeres ascensions i exploracions arreu del Pirineu, especialment a la zona aragonesa, on explorà metòdicament totes les seves valls i cims. Soler va donar carta de naturalesa a la pràctica esportiva o caminadora, anomenada llavors contemplaiva, obrint nous camins a lexcursionisme català del moment i acostant-lo a lactiu pirineisme francès de la seva època. Cal destacar la seva faceta de fotògraf, que pot qualificar-se dexcepcional, amb una collecció dimatges daltíssim valor documental i artístic. Igualment la seva figura va ser decisiva en la construcció del refugi de la Renclusa, als peus de lAneto. Important publicista, destaquen tot un seguit darticles publicats al Butlletí del Centre Excursionista de catalunya i la publicació, lany 1906, de la seva notable guia La Vall dAran. LIBRO.
