Während man ihnen sonst stets in der Betriebsamkeit der Flughäfen dieser Welt begegnet, als Zentren in einem Geflecht von Aktivitäten, trifft man sie hier in der absoluten Einsamkeit. Kein Mensch weit und breit, keine Infrastruktur, keine Bewegung. Nicht künstliche Materialien wie Beton, Teer, Stahl oder Glas prägen die Szenerie, stattdessen Sand, ein paar vereinzelte Gräser und Steine. Werner Bartsch konzentriert sich in seinen Fotografien auf das Neue, das entsteht wenn gewohnte Beziehungen von Objekt und Umgebung aufgelöst werden.
