As a little girl of 10, she was at the Whitman Mission at the time of the massacre, as Cayuse Indians killed Dr. Marcus Whitman, his wife, and a dozen others. An interesting account with first-hand observations of Dr. McLaughlin and the Hudson's Bay Company; fur trader and trapper, Peter S. Ogden; and many from among the missionary groups. This scarce work includes the Diary of Mrs. H. H.
