Als eine Art Erweiterung der handelsüblichen Hausnotrufsysteme können hierdurch automatisch Gefahrensituationen erkannt werden. Verwendet wird eine an der Decke des Wohnraumes angebrachte Fischaugenkamera. Aufbauend auf ein allgemeines Beaufsichtigungssystem, das auf die Anwendung im häuslichen Umfeld angepasst ist, wird zunächst auf eine ausführliche Kamerakalibrierung eingegangen. Anschließend werden ein modellfreier und ein modellbasierter Ansatz für die Personenbeaufsichtigung vorgestellt. Um das System noch robuster zu machen schlägt der Autor schließlich eine aktive Erweiterung vor. Das Buch richtet sich an Forschungsgruppen und Studierende auf dem Gebiet Computer Vision und an alle Technikinteressierten.
