En raison des supports de couple, les arbres de transmission seront soumis à des contraintes de torsion et de cisaillement, qui sont équivalentes à la différence entre le couple d'entrée et la charge. Les arbres d'entraînement doivent donc être suffisamment résistants pour supporter cette contrainte, tout en évitant un poids supplémentaire trop important qui, à son tour, augmenterait leur inertie. Le projet porte sur le remplacement de l'arbre d'entraînement conventionnel en acier par des composites en carbone à haute résistance.
