Die wichtigsten sind diejenigen von Althans, Sachs und Michael. Nachdem Aßmann, ausgehend von der Gliederung Ecks, eine sehr sorgfältige und ins einzelne gehende Gliederung gegeben hat, blieb auf stratigraphischem Gebiete im wesentlichen noch die Frage der Sedimentation zu klären. Ferner ist hier so wenig wie anderswo die Frage der Dolomitisierung des Kalkes bisher einwandfrei gelöst worden. Was die Erzlagerstätten aber anbetrifft, so zeigte es sich mir bald, daß die Entstehung der Erze durch Annahme einer Zufuhr der Lösungen aus der Tiefe mit allen beobachteten Tatsachen in Widerspruch steht. Durch die geologische Landesaufnahme in diesem Teile des Staates, die zum großen Teile durch Aßmann, aber auch durch Michael, Tornau und Quitzow ausgeführt worden ist und durch die markscheiderische, z. T. glänzend durchgeführte Aufnahme der Gruben es sei hier an die Arbeit von Gäbler erinnert ist auch die Tektonik weitgehend, wenn auch noch nicht endgültig geklärt worden. Als ich daher mit einer Untersuchung des oberschlesischen Erzgebietes von der Bergwerksgesellschaft Georg von Giesches Erben in Breslau betraut wurde, ergaben sich die Leitgedanken für meine Arbeit daraus von selbst; es mußte der Versuch zur Klärung der folgenden Fragen gemacht werden: Paläogeographie des oberschlesischen Muschelkalkes, Vervollständigung der Tektonik, Dolomitisierung, Herkunft der Erze, Bildung der Lagerstätte und Paragenesis der Mineralien und Verteilung der Erze innerhalb der Lagerstätte. Zur Beurteilung all' dieser Fragen mußte natürlich auch der Untergrund mit herangezogen werden, und ich konnte mich auch da auf umfassende und z. T. sehr wertvolle Arbeiten stützen, wovon hier nur diejenigen von Gäbler, Michael, Jicinsky, Bar- tonec, Petrascheck usw. genannt seien. Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 345.
