Popular American love song written by lyricist Gus Kahn (1886-1941) and composer Joe Sanders, issued in 1928 by Irving Berlin, Inc. The song reflects the late 1920s popular ballad style, combining romantic lyricism with a gently flowing waltz tempo. The arrangement by May Singhi Breen incorporates accessible ukulele chord diagrams, reflecting the widespread popularity of the instrument during the period. May 19, 1961) was a Broadway composer, lyricist, and librettist. A famed member of Tin Pan Alley along with wife and composer Ida Emerson.

The song was inspired by John Fox, Jr.'s 1908 novel of the same title, the song expresses the singer's love for his girl, June, who lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. In acceptable condition a split to the outside covers (repaired with clear tape) and several other small nicks and tears and light creasing along edges. Previous owner's name at top of front cover and date on top corner of back cover. Light to moderate overall scuffing aging and soiling. Inside of front cover (page [2]) is an ad with single line excerpts from songs by Ballard Macdonald and others. Back cover has an ad for "It Takes a little Rain with the Sunshine to make the world go round".
