Juli 1963 in Dornach, Kanton Solothurn, Schweiz) war ein Schweizer Theosoph, Anthroposoph und Dichter. Nach dem Tode Rudolf Steiners am 30. März 1925 wurde Steffen zum Vorsitzenden der Allgemeinen Anthroposophischen Gesellschaft. In München lernt Albert Steffen den Maler Stanislaus Stückgold und seine Frau Elisabeth kennen, deren Tochter Epileptikerin und halbseitig gelähmt ist. 1920 geht Elisabeth Stückgold in Begleitung von Albert Steffen nach Dornach, um von Steiner Rat für die Tochter zu erbitten. Dort übernimmt Steffen auf Wunsch Steiners die Redaktion der neu gegründeten Wochenschrift Das Goetheanum, die er bis zu seinem Tode beibehält. Zur Jahreswende 1923/24 ernennt Steiner Albert Steffen zum stellvertretenden Vorsitzenden der Allgemeinen Anthroposophischen Gesellschaft. Durch die immer engere Verbindung Steffens mit der Anthroposophie werden die Werke Steffens ab 1919 nicht mehr vom S. Fischer Verlag herausgegeben, worauf Steffen 1928 einen eigenen Verlag, den Verlag für schöne Wissenschaften gründet. 1925, nach Rudolf Steiners Tod, wird er Vorsitzender der Allgemeinen Anthroposophischen Gesellschaft. 1933 stirbt Stanislaus Stückgold und Albert Steffen heiratet 1935 dessen Witwe Elisabeth Stückgold, die 1961 stirbt. Albert Steffen selbst starb am 13. Juli 1963 im Alter von 79 Jahren. (aus Wikipedia).
