Soft cover. Condizione: Good. 1st Edition. First Edition of a Maryland historical society publication devoted to the works of early 18th century colonial Maryland poet Ebenezer Cook. Includes the satirical poem "The Sot-Weed Factor" which novelist John Barth mined for his famous 20th century satirical novel, "The Sot-Weed Factor." Also includes lesser known verse by Cook as well as an illustration of the cover of the Cook Sot Weed Factor. 102 pages. The front cover and the first two pages (the title page and a blank endpaper) are detached and the backing is exposed. There is a chip and two closed tears on the cover. Internal pages are near fine.

Part II is Nos. 4-5 (April-May 1907) in Series XXV of the Johns Hopkins series. Both pamphlets authored by Bernard C. Steiner. The Johns Hopkins series was published monthly and edited by H. B. Adams, J. M. Vincent, J. H. Hollander, and W. W. Willoughby.
