Nei testi specialistici si approfondiscono solitamente in modo esaustivo i presupposti sistemici, mentre alle radici costruttiviste viene prestata scarsa attenzione.… Cio ha determinato una lacuna sia dal punto di vista dei contenuti che da quello editoriale, che il presente lavoro si propone di colmare. L'attenzione alle radici costruttivistiche richiede una visione d'insieme, poiche la questione puo essere fatta risalire agli albori della storia europea. In sei capitoli tematici, l'autore mette in luce queste radici storiche, stabilendo collegamenti sorprendenti, nuovi e fecondi per la questione in esame. Su questa base, lo sviluppo del pensiero costruttivista nel XX secolo, illustrato nella sezione seguente, si presenta sotto una nuova luce.
