Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Seminar paper from the year 2021 in the subject Cultural Studies - Miscellaneous, grade: 1,3, , course: Data Science, language: English, abstract: The aim of this case study is to build a cultural guideline for the managers in a medium-sized mechanical engineering business in south Germany working in Brazil. The guideline is based on Hofstede's, Hall's, and Rotter's concept to evaluate cultural differences between Germany and Brazil. Globalization is used to describe the interdependence of the world's economies and cultures. These global interactions did reach its peak in the 19th century through technical breakthroughs such as steamships, railroads leading to an increase in human interactions throughout borders. Globalization did encourage the aspect of comparative advantage, meaning that each country can specify on products which require the least amount of resources. Trading these resources makes the production more efficiently, lowers the prize of goods and is daily practiced. Modern global economy makes intercultural cooperation indispensable for companies. International businesses face difficulties coming from a lack of intercultural understanding. Without the briefing on the cultural differences, misunderstandings and conflicts can occur easily. To keep up with the rising demand of intercultural interactions, it is mandatory to understand different cultures, values and their impact on the organizational operations within them. One of the most important tasks of a manager is to do the same task all over the world, but change how they do it. The strategy, structure, and actions suitable for the cultural background must change regarding the different cultural environment the manager is working at. In order to achieve organizational goals it is inevitable to adapt these aspects based on the socio-cultural environment. This goal can be achieved by cross-cultural management. Many studies have been obtained to answer conflicts arising from cross-cultural interactions. One aspect of addressing the roots of the cross-cultural conflicts is described by the dimensional approach by introducing multiple dimensions. Rotter defines national culture according to their locus of control (LoC) and uses a one dimensional model. Another approach to address cultural differences defined by Edward T. Hall does include the aspect of communication. The main focus here is on the verbal, as well as non-verbal communication and build on a three dimensional model. Hofstede explained the national culture according to a six dimensional model.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Seminar paper from the year 2022 in the subject Computer Science - Software, grade: 2.0, , language: English, abstract: The rapid pace of digitalisation is not only affecting our everyday lives, but also the world of work. The advantage of digitalization in the industry is seen as the fourth industrial revolution and called ¿Industry 4.0¿. This industrial revolution started at the end of the 20th century and facilitated the intelligent monitoring and decision processes and is still evolving. With the great benefits for companies, it does also bring major restructuring and challenges. The industrial processes develop increasingly agile and complex. To manage such complex structures, new methods were needed. The new demands on project management were speed, flexibility, dynamism, and customer proximity. With rising software demands these projects were very difficult to manage with the hitherto prevailing plan-driven management methods, due to the complexity and uncertainty during these project processes. To still be able to handle such complex and uncertain projects, different agile project management methods were developed. The approaches are classified if they meet specific requirements. The term agile management is an umbrella term for different approaches that meet specific requirements like the values and principles of the agile manifesto. One of the agile approaches is the scrum method, developed by Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland in the 80s. This method has its name origin in the sport of rugby. Scrum in rugby is a situation, which is formed, when the forwards of both teams are in a tight formation and try to dominate the possession of the ball. To win the ball possession, the forwards of a team must work agile and, in a team, to get their goal. The process of scrum project management is used as a framework, in which the team has to functions self-organized to reach their goal. This framework is characteristic for its iterative process making it suitable for projects in which many unforeseen changes may occur. The goal of this case study is to explain the scrum method and plan-driven method more in detail and analyse the importance and advantages of the agile management method with the help of an exemplary project and lastly compare the agile method with a plan-driven management method.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Seminar paper from the year 2022 in the subject Mathematics - Statistics, grade: 1,3, , language: English, abstract: The pandemic has spread during the last two years dramatically. In Germany alone roughly 25,66 million confirmed cases and 137 348 confirmed Corona deaths were documented. Interestingly the highest number of confirmed cases was around 1,6 million on the 21st March of 2022 while the confirmed death counts were at 1 520 in Germany at the same day. Conversely, this means that the counted deaths are roughly 1 000 times lower than the infection levels, while the highest death count was detected at the 14th of December in 2020 with a value of 6 410 with roughly 170 00 confirmed cases. Meaning that around 27 times less deaths were confirmed in comparison to infection cases. The decrease of Corona deaths may be caused by the introduction of the Corona vaccinations. With the help of the accumulated data during the pandemic, the effect of the vaccination can be tested against the hospitalization values of Corona patients with statistical tests (Robert-Koch Institut, 2022). The test does indirectly adress the issue towards the decreasing Corona deaths with increasing infection cases. The increasing value of confirmed cases clearly shows, that the vaccination does not inhibit the infection, but somehow may have an weakening effect on the course of the disease. The approach mainly focus on different vaccination status and age groups of hospitalized Corona patients in Germany. Not included are factors like the Corona variation and the specific vaccines. Statistical tests to address such questions are parametric tests, which are powerful tools to evaluate data following a normal distribution. Within the assignment, two parametric tests are presented (pearson correlation coefficient and one-way ANOVA), while the one-way ANOVA was chosen to adress the question of interest desribed above. The results of the analysis indicate significant differences between hopsitalized Corona patients with different vaccination status, which is discussed in detail in the conclusion.…
