Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. Humanizing PTSD and it Treatment I am not a machine or a list of symptoms in a statistical manual of diagnosis. I am a human being with human emotions who has been through situations nobody should ever have to experience. War does not appear to be avoidable and people who serve in the armed forces will always experience the trauma of war, which is very saddening. As a human being I hope to be treated as such with empathy and understanding for what I have experienced because I have not felt that type of connection in an amount of time that seems like forever. This book is a close up look at the decisions made and emotions felt by the human soldier as they experience combat. This is a work in teaching the way out of being in a war zone and returning home. This work is put together to allow the reader to learn from a casual discussion about what it was like, what happened and what it is like presently for the returning combat veteran. This is also an effort to help family, friends and professionals be connected with the combat veteran in a way no manual can produce. Written by a man who cares, understands as much as possible and cries intermittently, especially over the heroic gestures of the clients he calls "his guys."
