Relation de trois voyages effectués par l'explorateur hollandais Jan Janszoon Struys entre 1647 et 1672 d'abord aux iles du Cap-Vert, Madagascar et Japon, puis à Venise, et enfin en Russie, au Daghestan et en Perse, avec d'intéressantes observations sur ces contrées , cette relation est suivie de 2 lettres décrivant la prise d'Astrakan par Stepan Razine par David Butler. L'édition comprend également la « Relation du naufrage d'un vaisseau hollandois nomme Ter Schelling vers la cote de Bengala; ou l'on voit des effets extraordinaires de la faim, & plusieurs autres choses remarquables, arrivées a ceux qui montoient ce batiment, par Glanius », avec un titre et une pagination séparée. L'illustration se compose d'un titre frontispice, d'une carte marine dépliante de la Mer Caspienne et de 28 planches dépliantes gravées en taille-douce, représentant les villes de Patmos, Delphes, Persépolis, Ispahan, Astrakan, les habitants, les m?urs, les supplices et massacres.
