Lithograph, 10.5" x 8.5" plus margins. A scarce and very fine lithographic portrait of Fanny Kemble as Julia in James Sheridan Knowles' play The Hunchback, after a painting by Thomas Sully. Kemble and her father toured the United States in 18321833, immediately following her much acclaimed performance as Julia in London. Both Sully's painting and this lithograph reproducing it were executed in 1833. The painting is owned today by the Rosenbach Museum and Library.
