(S.7) - Johann Christoph Blumhardt (1805-1880), evang. Theologe u. Pfarrer der württembergischen Erweckungsbewegung. 1838 wurde er zum Pfarrer in Möttlingen (bei Bad Liebenzell) ernannt, wo Gottliebin Dittus, eine junge Frau, an einer unerklärlichen Krankheit litt: sie wurde von Krämpfen geplagt, fremde Stimmen redeten aus ihr. Ab 1842 begleitete Blumhardt diese Frau seelsorgerlich, indem er sie immer wieder an Gottes Verheißungen erinnerte u. mit ihr betete. An Weihnachten 1843 endete ihr Leiden, das Blumhardt später in einem Krankheitsbericht an das kirchliche Konsistorium als "Geisterkampf" bezeichnet. Der laute Ruf der Geheilten "Jesus ist Sieger" wird zum Losungswort Johann Christoph Blumhardts. Die Heilung löste eine Buß- u. Erweckungsbewegung mit steigenden Besucherzahlen aus (an einem Pfingstfest 2.000 Auswärtige), in der folgenden Zeit wurde auch von weiteren Heilungen berichtet. - Rücken mit kl.
