Second edition. Harvey is a realistic painter and sculptor, often considered a painter of the west, but he is equally skilled and at ease with his paintings wherever he is, and many of the paintings in this book are outside of the West he is is so well known for. Much of his work is oil on canvas, done plein air style, directly from the scene, and it shows in the sense of immediacy from the work, that feeling of being right there in the midst of the scene. He has an amazing way with light, and weather, and the adjectives often used to describe his work are certainly applicable. Clarity, immediacy, artistic honesty, sharp focus on lifestyle, culture and surroundings, intimacy are all words that bring his work to mind. Foreword by Governor John Connally. Includes biofraphy, and many photos of the artist at work. 144 pp.
