Hardcover. Condizione: Fair. 1st Edition. Hardcover children's book is in fair condition. Main visible damage is the book cover at the base of the spine has torn away. There is visible discoloration and wear on the book covers, along with some writing on the back cover. Spine has another section of binding that has torn away but… it is still attached. Points are worn down visibly. Interior pages look great! Illustrations still in full color with not much yellowing. Pages are intact with no damage. All pages are still secure in the binding. Book has edgewear, severely bumped corners, shelfwear, score lines to covers that create color breaks, a large color break on the front cover caused by poor sticker removal, stress lines on covers, a tear to the bottom of the spine (1') that effects the first signature wi…thin the text block as well (though to a lesser extent), mild rust to staples, wear to the corners of the text block, and age-related toning to pages. Interior presents quite well, with bright colors to the illustrations; none of the exterior damage creates an issue with the internal text or pictures.

Some light wear to outer edges and very slight cracking to hinges. Otherwise very bright and clean. PICTORIAL BOX (same as book cover…) overall neat, clean and bright, G+. Just normal edgewear and slight tears at corners. This UNCOMMON CHILDREN'S book, DESIGNED, ILLUSTRATED, and written by KAY SWAN, offers a FUN and INFORMATIVE way of LEARNING to tell time. From the beginning of the story reads: " Hanging on the wall in the far side of the room, was a HICKORY-DICKORY-DOCK clock, to which NURSEY NORA turned. It is now seven o' clock. Please, NURSEY NORA, how does it say seven o' clock? asked NODDY. You will notice on the clock face, two pointers. These are called the HANDS. The smaller pointer or hand, is called the HOUR-HAND and always tells the HOUR of TIME. The large pointer, or hand, is called the MINUTE-HAND and always tells the MINUTES of TIME." 24 pages COMPLETE with a "HANDS ON" clock on cover and the UNCOMMON box the book came in. Small 4to oblong (9"x 10 ½"); 6 leaves; stiff brightly colored pictorial wrapper features animals around an artist easel on the front, the rear wrapper pictures animals displaying their drawings and the name "A.W.…Nugent"; 2 staple binding; the 6 leaves feature a waxed black surface suitable for drawing on with chalk and washing off, simple figures on one side face a solid black surface; light creasing to wrapper, chipping to edges, ½" split at head of spine fold, top staple starting to pull from wrapper; very good. Not recorded. An unused or lightly used child's activity drawing book. Simple pictures face a blank page where a child could draw with chalk and erase with a damp cloth. A.W. Nugent (1891-1975) was an illustrator and cartoonist for Dell, DC Comics, Harvey Comics, Lev Gleason, Columbia, Marvel Comics, and others. He also was a self-published cartoonist who wrote Cavalier Comics and Circus of Fun Comics. Kay SWAN (illustratore).
