Carl Sweezy (1881-1953) was born a Blue Cloud Arapaho, he was one of the last thousand full blooded Arapahoe living on a reservation in Oklahoma and he was brought up in the old ways. He learned to paint and his paintings depict dances, hunts, dress, and ceremonies he knew. Before he died he related his memories and the stories older Arapahoe had told him about the old days to Althea Bass who wrote them down for this book. Writing by Althea Bass based on stories told by Carl Sweezy, illustrated with full color paintings by Sweezy. Covers clean. Head of spine gently bumped. Corners sharp. No previous owner marks. Text and illustrations clean and bright. Dust Jacket has minor soiling to back cover. Head of DJ spine gently rubbed. DJ back cover has a couple 1/2" tears to top edge. DJ now protected in mylar.
