Robin MacLachlan is a Scottish composer and music educator who has been active in writing pedagogical piano music aimed primarily at younger students and those in the earlier stages of learning the instrument. His work in educational music reflects a concern with produci…ng pieces that are musically interesting and characterful while remaining technically manageable for developing pianists. Climbing is one of his educational piano pieces written with beginner or early intermediate students in mind.
