Inhalt: Der Marienaltar zu Krakau von Veit Stoß (auch: Stoss, polnisch Wit Stwosz); (* um 1447 in Horb am Neckar, 1533 in Nürnberg). Er war ein Bildhauer und -schnitzer der Spätgotik. Er war vor allem in Krakau und Nürnberg tätig. Er schuf in Krakau von 1477 bis 1489 it dem Krakauer Hochaltar für die Marienkirche den zweitgrößten geschnitzten Flügelaltar der deutschen Gotik. Im Mittelschrein sind Tod und Himmelfahrt der Maria in überlebensgroßen, meist vollrunden Figuren, auf den Flügeln Szenen aus dem Leben Christi und der Maria in Reliefs dargestellt.
