Both Aziz and Cucher have familal roots in the Middie East, and the project represents a powerful and unexpectedly personal response after a career in which the artists have mostly repressed overt consideration of their identites in their work. The video installations that consitute Some People fuse elements of photography, drawing, animation, choreography, sound, costume design, and theater, together conjuring a tumultuous, absurd landscape that examines the nature of human struggle and conflict.
