Tight, nice copy of this noted scholarly quarterly -- with a choice autograph addition: Tipped to an inner flyleaf is a Typed Note Signed from editor Tapp, 1pp, 8½" X 11", Lexington, KY, 1961 August 14. Addressed to noted Lincoln/Civil War scholar Arnold Gates (1914-93). Near fine. On "Civil War Round Table" letterhead, Tapp thanks Gates (officer with the New York City Civil War Round Table) "for the card giving information regarding the Civil War Centennial commemorative medal. The idea of issuing such a taken is indeed good; I feel sure it is attractive and a collector's item." Large, bold "Hambleton" in blue ballpoint. Tapp was a noted and prolific author and editor of Kentucky histories as well as chairman of the Kentucky Civil War Centennial Commission.
