Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. We are offering an interesting book entitled: Harvard et la France: Recueil d'etudes publie en l'honneur de l'Universite Harvard et offert a cette Universite par le Comite Francais pour la celebration du troisieme centenaire d Harvard. The work was published in Paris in 1936. "Edite Par Les Soin…s De La Revue D'Histoire Moderne." It was originally issue in brown printed wrappers, but this copy of the book was specially bound in a light Crimson cloth with a paper spine label, orignally wrapper covers bound-in. It bears the bookplate of Howard C. Rice, Jr., a noted authority on France and French language, culture and history who taught at Harvard. There is a contemporary review of this book pasted-in, which apparently appeared in a Harvard newspaper and is signed in the text "Howard C. Rice, Instructor in French." On the front cover of the bound-in wrapper at the beginning of the text, someone (apparently Rice) has written in ink: "Written by men who have lectured at Harvard 500 copies for American and So. American Universities. On Sale at Co-op." The text is complete in 240 pages and includes a great foldout map (facsimile of a 1663 Map of Boston) entitled: La Premiere Representation De Harvard College by Jean Baptiste Franquelin. 1693." The authors credited are: Bernard Fay, Rene Doumic, A Tardien, M. LeBreten, et. Al. There is some light fading to the covers but overall condition is just about Fine.
