With the existing of multi-rate capability in WLANs, another performance anomaly of 802.11 can be detected where the performance of a WLAN is determined by the stations with the lowest data transmission rates. The objective of this research is to allocate fair proportional throughput among TCP flows of competing stations in IEEE 802.11 multi-rate infrastructure WLANs by distributing appropriate window and packet size according to the availability of buffer size in the access point. The research scenario focuses on the issue of fairness among stations having different numbers and directions of flow with vary of data transmission rates. In this work, a rated-window size scheme is performed by proportionally adjust the window size based on transmission rate of each flow. The results of total throughput and fairness index are compared with previous schemes. 112 pp. Englisch.

Avec l'existence d'une capacité multi-débits dans les WLAN, une autre anomalie de performance de la norme 802.11 peut être détectée : la performance d'un WLAN est déterminée par les stations ayant les débits de transmission de données les plus faibles. L'objectif de cette recherche est d'allouer un débit proportionnel équitable entre les flux TCP des stations concurrentes dans les réseaux locaux sans fil à débit multiple de l'IEEE 802.11 en distribuant une fenêtre et une taille de paquet appropriées en fonction de la disponibilité de la taille de la mémoire tampon dans le point d'accès. Le scénario de recherche se concentre sur la question de l'équité entre les stations ayant des nombres et des directions de flux différents avec des taux de transmission de données variables. Dans ce travail, un schéma de taille de fenêtre évaluée est réalisé en ajustant proportionnellement la taille de la fenêtre en fonction du taux de transmission de chaque flux. Les résultats du débit total et de l'indice d'équité sont comparés aux schémas précédents. 84 pp. Französisch.
