He, James Watson, Rosalind Franklin, and Maurice Wilkins played crucial roles in deciphering the helical structure of the DNA molecule. Sir Richard John Robertsb1943 is a British biochemist and molecular biologist. He was awarded the 1993 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Phillip Allen Sharp for the discovery of introns in eukaryotic DNA and the mechanism of gene-splicing. He currently works at New England Biolabs. James Herbert Taylor (January 14, 1916 in Corsicana, Texas - December 29, 1998 in Tallahassee, Florida)[1][2] was an American molecular biologist and geneticist known for his research on chromosome structure and reproduction, which helped establish standards for the subsequent field of molecular genetics. He conducted much of this research with his wife, Shirley Taylor. According to a 2006 Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory textbook, "Taylor comes as close as anyone to being the father of the field" of studying chromosomes. Russell Alan Hulse b 1950 is an American physicist and winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics, shared with his thesis advisor Joseph Hooton Taylor Jr., "for the discovery of a new type of pulsar, a discovery that has opened up new possibilities for the study of gravitation".To the rear are the signatures of Betty Boothroyd and Bernard Weatherill, Baron Weatherill.
