Wraps. Condizione: Very good. Presumed First Edition, First printing. 184 pages, plus cover. Illustrations (most in color). Signed on the title page by Ted Sikora and Milo Miller with a handwritten number 440. "Foreword March" by Roy Thomas. Includes number 6, Enter the Ruster; #7 Rust for the Wicked; #8 Scrapper's Delight; #9 Ten Cent Beer Night; #10 Nothing Like Vaudeville' and Nothing Like Vaudeville Act II. Ted Sikora is a Cleveland/Akron based filmmaker and comic book creator. He directed, co-wrote, and co-produced the indie feature Hero Tomorrow; and directed the feature documentary Move On. He has also directed music videos, commercials, educational films, and over fifty artist profile documentaries. Ted is the president of Hero Tomorrow Comics, and the creator/writer of Tap Dance Killer, Bloom, Punchline and the Vaude-Villains, and the creator/co-writer of Apama The Undiscovered Animal. He has written and scored two original musicals: Nothing Like Vaudeville and Crown of Ariadne. Milo Miller (b.2004, Dover, NH, based in Chicago, IL) is a punk comics artist and author. He works in dark fantasy and contemporary mythmaking. In a space of literalized metaphor he creates relevant fictions on contemporary politics and philosophy. Themes of colonialism and resistance are explored. Via the medium of comics, Milo situates narratives on the nature of power and struggles against oppression in justly grand terms - Myth. From cave paintings and reliefs on sarcophagi, to altarpieces and comic books, the narrative image is humanity's most powerful tool for mythmaking. His stories call upon historical depictions of myth and folklore. Benito Gallego (born in Madrid, Spain) decided he loved comics at a tender age, even before he had already learned to read, and he's been drawing all his life filling with his doodles any blank space in every piece of paper that fell in his hand. For a long time he collaborated providing comics and pin-ups for fanzines and publications in Spain while attending the Faculty of Fine Arts in Madrid. And he continued drawing comics later while developing a parallel career in advertising and graphic design that paid the bills for many years. After contacting Roy Thomas, Benito got his first professional assignments working with him in his series Anthem and Captain Thunder & Blue Bolt. Since then he's been working with other top talents in the comics medium like Cary Bates and Sal Buscema at DC Comics, Brian Azzarello or Paul Kupperberg. Benito has done a variety of illustration work including trading cards with the Marvel characters, and monsters or dinosaurs for Upper Deck. And he has also done illustrations for books like the Diego's Dragon series written by Kevin Gerard. Since 2010 Benito has been doing the art for Apama The Undiscovered Animal, a comic series based in concepts and characters from the movie Hero Tomorrow created by Milo Miller and Ted Sikora. He has provided the art and lettering for a graphic novel on the life of reggae star Bob Marley written by Jim McCarthy. In 2016 Benito started working in The New Adventures of Tarzan series with writer Roy Thomas and he is currently collaborating with famed writers like Nicola Cuti and Don Glut in The Creeps horror magazine. Apama - The Undiscovered Animal is an independent superhero comic created by Ted Sikora, Milo Miller, and Benito Gallego. It is vaguely connected to Sikora and Miller's independent film Hero Tomorrow. Eons ago, the mighty apama defeated the lion in order to become the king of the beasts. Disgusted that no other creature could match his power, the apama disappeared, vowing to rule the other animals in obscurity. In the present day, perpetually luckless ice-cream truck driver Ilyia Zjarsky stumbles upon a mysterious cave in the woods outside of Cleveland, where he finds a weird suit and a diagram portraying a pose that could supposedly unlock the secret powers of the apama. Despite not knowing what an apama is, Ilyia dedicates himself to replicating the pose, and is rewarded with superhuman powers, which he uses to defend Cleveland from a host of bizarre villains.
