Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. Photographs by Curt Teich & Co. (illustratore). This is a nicely preserved souvenir book for Washington D.C. from 1942. The book contains seventy-five pictures, of which, many are full page photographs, and others are obviously derived from photographs. Lovely views of many of the most iconic and beautiful buildings and historic monuments in the nation's Capital. Washington has always been an architectural treasure house, and this book shows us why. Contains a few interior photographs also. At the end is a line map which is placed opposite a bird's-eye view of the "Heart of the Nation". I found the photographs of the Washington airport specially telling, as the only planes in sight are old two prop passenger craft. It almost seems bucolic!
