No Binding. Condizione: Collectible-Very Good. Original billhead printed in black ink on light beige paper. Also includes handwriting in pencil. Dated 1903 in Sacramento, California. 8 1/4" x 4 3/4." Billhead is very clean and intact except for light age toning, two vertical fold lines, and slight wrinkling. A Very Good, almost Near Fine copy. An original billhead from Friend & Terry Lumber Company of Sacramento, California to Frank Kunsting of Franklin, California. Kunsting bought three line items, which are identified by abbreviations and numerical specifications. An inscription over the line items notes, "Shipped to Elk Grove, Cal." The printed header reads, "Bought of Friend & Terry Lumber Co., Manufacturers and Dealers in All Kinds of Lumber; Redwood and Oregon; Sugar and Yellow Pine; Spruce and Fir; Shingles; Shakes; Posts and Laths; Moldings and Sash; Doors and Blinds; Sash Cords and Weights." Additional printed text at top reads, "Main Yard and Office: 1220 Second Street; Established 1853; Branch Yard: Twelfth and J Streets.".

No Binding. Condizione: Collectible-Good. Original billhead printed in black ink on light beige paper. Also includes handwriting in black ink. Datelined January [20?], 1869 in Sacramento, California. 8" x 4 1/2." Billhead is very clean and intact but has light age toning, a few vertical fold lines, slight wrinkling, some staining (may be glue) on front and back, and a blue ink line drawn vertically down the center. A Good copy. An original billhead from Friend & Terry of Sacramento, California to the Central Pacific Railroad Foundry. Central Pacific bought two line items, which are predominantly identifiable by numerical specifications. The printed header reads, "Bought of Friend & Terry, Dealers in all kinds of Lumber, Doors, Windows, Blinds, etc., Office, No. 140 Second Street, Between M and N." Name of "J. S. Friend," perhaps one of the proprietors, printed in upper-left corner on front. Central Pacific identified as "C. P. R. Road Foundry.".

In good condition, lightly-aged, with minor traces of stub adhering to one edge on blank reverse. He thanks her for her 'beautiful present' and informs her that he has 'secured 6 places in the front Boxes for to-morrow evening - and shall do myself the pleasure of bringing up admissions for that Number either to day or early to morrow morning'. He has just heard from his wife, 'who sails in the City of Edinh. for London on Wednesday next'.

The letter begins: 'Had I been aware, before dinner, of what our friend Geddes has just informed me after dinner, - that you are at present a Batchelor, you certainly should have had no excuse for not returning with him to a friendly knife & fork in Mount Street'. He asks him, if he is 'quite alone', to 'come immeditely & lecture him for his remissness - & drink to his better behaviour - we are quite en famille with only Geddes'.
