By which I mean, the few others for sale are all library copies without dust jackets. My copy is NOT an ex-library book, it has its original dust jacket, and it i…s also a First Edition (with a Number Line to 1). This is a very interesting book. It consists of a collection of stories by an impressive group of children's authors. The authors are, in order of the stories, Catherine Woolley, Barbara Brenner, Judy Blume, Charlotte Zolotow, Grace Berquist, Betty Ren Wright, Janice May Udry, Joan Gill, Elizabeth Starr Hill, and M. Matsuno. The book is illustrated by Michael Hampshire, who became well known as a National parks archaeological illustrator and photographer. Fortunately, this rare book is in excellent condition. You can see the photographs I've provided. The pinkish red covers are quite clean. There's a minimum of wear (a slight bit of fading of color around the top right-hand corner of the front and at the corners, no rub-through, and a light crease at the bottom edge of the spine). This book is square and straight, tight and very solidly bound. This book has either been gently handled or not much handled at all. The pages are exceptionally clean and not at all worn. No one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. And there aren't any markings or attachments. The Dust Jacket is not quite so perfect but has held up rather well. You can see it in the first few photographs. I've had it fitted into a protective cover. Three of the four flaps have been neatly clipped. There is a spot of scuffing at the bottom right-hand corner of the front, a spot of soiling at the juncture of the front and spine, some scuffing at the spine ends as well as off the bottom edge of the rear cover where there appears to be a small tear as well. And upon closer examination I believe there is a light stain on the top right side of the front cover. You should be able to see the change in color there. It's not particularly conspicuous, in fact I didn't really take note of it until now. In any event, you should take a good look (zoom in) at the photographs.
