Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. In English and Persian. First Edition ( 'First Published 2004' ). Clean brown covers. Bright gilt lettering on front, rear and spine. No conspicuous wear. Terrific looking edges and corners. Page edges very clean. Nice-looking spine. The book is square and the spine is straight. If you push the covers from the sides they will jiggle a little bit. However, the book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. Very thick and very solidly bound. The interior of the book is in very good condition. The pages are exceptionally clean (so are the white inside covers and endpapers). I've scrolled through the pages many times. I found only one spot off the bottom edge of one page far from the print. I'm not sure if it's soiling, doesn't quite look like that. May have missed something, a lot of pages, but very, very clean pages. They are also in very good shape. I didn't see any turned-down corners or placeholder creases. I saw a sliver of a crease off the outer edge of some consecutive pages, probably something lightly pressing down there. Minor and not touching the print. Otherwise, no creasing, only an occasional crinkling. The bottom corner of five consecutive pages was produced a little long. The previous owner had folded the extra paper in. I clipped it off leaving a teeny tiny diagonal tip with perhaps a 'loss' of 1/32nd of an inch. I didn't see any tears on any of the pages. There are no markings. No attachments. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. There is a white silver ribbon. It is perfectly clean. It's in pretty nice shape, one small thin crease and fraying at the bottom, although, looking more closely, it may not be fraying, it looks like it was produced that way, to be like a brush at the end. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. I have owned the book for nearly 10 years and have always had it in a fitted protective cover. The jacket is in excellent condition. Very clean and very little wear, just a tiny scuff at the top corner of the front cover. The flaps are in excellent shape as well. They do not contain any print at all. 'Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi (1207-1273), was a 13th-century Persian poet, Hanafi faqih, Islamic scholar, Maturidi theologian, and Sufi mystic originally from Greater Khorasan in Greater Iran. Rumi's influence transcends national borders and ethnic divisions: Iranians, Tajiks, Turks, Greeks, Pashtuns, other Central Asian Muslims, and the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent have greatly appreciated his spiritual legacy for the past seven centuries. His poems have been widely translated into many of the world's languages and transposed into various formats. Rumi has been described as the "most popular poet" and the "best selling poet" in the United States. Rumi's works are written mostly in Persian, but occasionally he also used Turkish, Arabic,/ and Greek in his verse. His Masnavi (Mathnawi), composed in Konya, is considered one of the greatest poems of the Persian language. His works are widely read today in their original language across Greater Iran and the Persian-speaking world. Translations of his works are very popular, most notably in Turkey, Azerbaijan, the United States, and South Asia. His poetry has influenced not only Persian literature, but also the literary traditions of the Ottoman Turkish, Chagatai, Urdu, Bengali and Pashto languages.'. …
