Hardcover. Condizione: Good Vintage, with defects. Condizione sovraccoperta: A:This Book Has No Dust Jacket. First edition by publisher. Hardcover edition in green cloth binding, 70 pages, signed by the author on the front endpaper, in fair to good vintage condition with visible defects; minor staining to the lower cover, foxing present, and past water staining along the bottom edge of pages which does detract somewhat from appearance but does not affect readability; no odor noted; previous owner gift inscription present and church library pocket affixed to rear endpaper; binding remains intact and text fully readable. Beyond the Pavement by Irene Stanley, author of Born to the Land, was published by Oxford Press of Hollywood, California, and reflects Stanley's association with Unity Church spirituality and mid-20th-century metaphysical thought. This scarce volume gathers reflective, devotional, and introspective poems that blend self-examination, empowerment themes, anecdotal life observations, and occasionally whimsical or quirky reflections grounded in faith and personal growth. Stanley's work aligns with the inspirational and spiritually centered poetry often circulated through Unity-affiliated communities during the period, emphasizing inner development, gratitude, and mindful living. Though condition issues are clearly present and this copy is not in perfect shape, signed examples of Stanley's poetry remain difficult to locate, making it a desirable acquisition for collectors of regional California poetry, Unity Church publications, and small press spiritual literature. A genuinely scarce signed work that retains literary and historical interest despite its flaws, and an appealing addition to specialized poetry or spiritual collections. Signed by Author(s). Book.
