He has inscribed "Yours truly" and signed his name "Theo. J Toedt". The paper is unevenly darkened along the top and left edges. Good. The American tenor Theodore Toedt (1855-1920) was best known as a…boy soprano. He was a boy chorister at Trinity Church in New York City. His principal number was "Robert, toi que j'aime" from Meyerbeer's ROBERT LE DIABLE which he sang at age 16 in a concert at The Brooklyn Academy of Music. A contemporary review stated that the piece was given with "the fire and spirit of an accomplished prima donna".A RARE autograph.
