Manoscritto / Collezionismo cartaceo Prima edizione
Paper Ephemera. Condizione: Fine. 1st Edition. Offered is an original typed and signed letter dated December 20, 1974 from Thomas C. Cornell, National Program Coordinator of the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR), to Brad Glazier. A lengthy two-page letter, it begins: "You recently indicated interest in the FOR Indochina program. To fill you in on our involvement in this area over the course of the Viet Nam war years would be a tall order. Members of the FOR were among the first to protest and to demonstrate against U.S. involvement in the war. We organized, through our International FOR, the International Committee of Conscience on Viet Nam, which raised and coordinated pressure around the world in behalf of peace, and here in this country we pioneered counseling conscientious objectors and others with draft problems" [this lengthy letter then continues to document FOR activities involvement in the anti-war and peace movement]. Near the end of the letter, Mr. Cornell writes "We continue to seek ways of addressing the needs in Viet Nam, painfully mindful that the war, despite the Peace Accords, still rages and that U.S. tax dollars fuel the flames and pay for the continued imprisonment of thousands whose crime it was to protest the killing." With original envelope; the letter was previously folded twice for mailing purposes.

Endpapers of book by Daniel Buren. "Since public museums came into being in the late 18th century, artists have looked upon them with a mixture of reverence, complicity, suspicion, and disdain. In The Museum as Muse, artists of many persuasions speak their minds about museums, their functions and spaces, their practices and politics, and their relationship to the art they contain. More than 60 artists are represented by a wide range of works: photographs of museum patrons by Henri Cartier-Bresson and Elliot Erwitt; 'personal museums' and 'cabinets of curiosities' by Charles Wilson Peale, Marcel Duchamp, and Claes Oldenburg; fantasies of the destruction or transformation of museums by Hubert Robert, Ed Ruscha, and Christo and more, including works created especially for this project by contemporary artists, and an anthology of statements and writings by artists about museums. This volume was published to accompany an exhibition at The Museum of Modern Art, New York." -- publisher's statement. Very Good. Light wear to dust-jacket including a 6 mm. tear to spine edge and bumping of upper edge of recto. Light yellowing of page edges. Contents otherwise clean and unmarked.
