A combinação do programa de rádio realista CCN com discussões de acompanhamento do seu conteúdo entre os ouvintes através de grupos formais de ouvintes aumentou o impacto das suas intervenções nas audiências pretendidas - indicativo dos efeitos mediadores que a comunicação interpessoal pode ter nos programas dos media. No entanto, a conceção do CCN e de futuros programas deve ser alargada de modo a incluir componentes que abordem as barreiras estruturais (como a pobreza e o acesso limitado aos serviços) à mudança de atitude e de comportamento.
