The subject, born April 15, 1825, Toughkenamon, Chester County, Pennsylvania, the eldest son of Joel Thompson and Rachel Spencer, married Deborah V. Taylor, in 184…6, and together they had Joshua, b. 1848. Deborah died in 1848, and Eli married Deborah Swayne, and they had Marry Anna in 1855. Eli died in February, 1903, and Deborah in 1913.
