Clinical suspicion and liberal use of screening tests are necessary to differentiate these patients from those suffering from other types of hypertension. Disorders of the physiologic control mechanisms, functioning benign and malignant tumors and congenital enzymatic aberrations are known to underly hyperadrenal corticism.
